C-130 Overview
Herk Global specializes in the procurement and refurbishment of C-130 aircraft for use in commercial and government humanitarian operations. Herk Global’s C-130 Maintenance and Modification business provides customers with “special-purpose” airplanes at a fraction of the cost of a new aircraft. Herk Global modified C-130s are commonly used in:
- Emergency & Disaster Relief Missions
- Transport of Mobile Hospital Modules
- Food, Water and Medical Transport
- Fire-Fighting Operations
Parts Inventory
In conjunction with the Maintenance & Modification business, Herk Global maintains an extensive inventory of C-130 parts and accessories. This large inventory minimizes aircraft downtime during maintenance visits because Herk Global has many parts on hand rather than having to wait for parts to be shipped.
Electrical / Avionics
Herk Global offers its own in-house avionics capability for most avionics inspections and repairs. For large avionics projects such as “Glass Cockpit Upgrades,” Herk Global partners with major holders of Supplemental Type Certifications (STC) so that the installations that are completed at the Herk Global facility are in complete conformance with FAA regulations.
Mechanical
Herk Global possesses all the equipment and expertise necessary to perform major structural repairs and modifications. Most repairs are performed in accordance with manufacturer’s publications, such as the OEM Structural Repair Manual (SRM), the OEM Maintenance Manual (MM), Service Bulletins (SB), or Technical Orders (TO). However, if a repair or modification is not covered by any of these OEM publications, Herk Global obtains FAA/DER approval by developing certified engineering orders (EO) and performing work in conformance with those approved EOs.
